Hello Mr. Robert Waggoner, this question of mine was not related to your post, but I was just really curious. I had read your book in lucid dreaming back then, and remember that you once said about your dream of a yantra symbol that a girl showed you then.

I had a similar dream, there was this guy I personally knew, who in my dream wanted to show me something. He showed me a symbol on a paper, it seems that he wanted to teach me about it and it felt like there's some geometrical thing related to it. I was not lucid in the dream, so I just remembered the symbol, and nothing of what he told me. The symbol looks like an infinity, only that it was reverse (looking like 8), but there was something more to it, since the symbol seems to be composed of several interlocking reverse infinities.

When I woke up, I had the feeling that I should remembered that dream and the symbol. I research it at the internet until I came across with something called "endless knot" or the eternal knot which looks exactly like that in my dream. And I find it really weird, because I never knew that the symbol exists in reality!

What do you think of it, and why do such dreams happen? And by the way, I knew this guy personally, but I don't know if he's just a thought form or the real him in my dream.

P.S. Sorry if I have to ask you here, I don't have an idea where to contact you. Sorry.

Andy Paquette mentioned your talk at the IASD conference. It sounded very interesting. I've had lucid dreams quite often since I was a child. I didn't think of them as a bit deal or anything, they were just something I experience. Reading your blog puts a very different spin on such experiences. Very cool!

Hello pinkwoods,

Thanks for sharing your interesting dream experience and later realization. Whether in a lucid dream or regular dream, it seems curios to be shown a yantra or complex geometric symbol with esoteric meaning. Like you, I often wonder why this dream figure has acted to show me this?

If I had your experience, I might call up the person and tell them the dream, and ask if it connects to them in any way. By doing this, a person may discover a bit of dream telepathy. For example, the person may be studying "infinity and set theory" in math or physics, and be surprised by the dream connection. Or they may have no immediate connection with it at all.

In any case, lucid dreaming offers us a way to explore the nature of the subconscious and the apparently inter-connected nature of awareness. Lucid wishes!

Sandy,

Like many of us, you have likely enjoyed lucid dreaming as a kind of playground for the mind.

But in my book (and to some degree in this blog), I encourage lucid dreamers to see the vast potential for emotional and physical healing while lucid, as well as learning about the psyche in order to grow spiritually. It can be an extraordinary and personally transformational journey.

Lucid wishes!

In order on how to lucid dream the brain has to switch back quickly to the theta frequency. You are conscious that you are in lucid dreaming and you have full control over your dream.
